What is it? A hidden cocktail den, tucked away behind an orange door in a Somerville alley.

Why we love it: The overall vibe—more of a sports bar feel, with TV screens and signs advertising beers such as Miller Lite and Corona—isn't much to speak of, but Modern Underground’s lip-smacking espresso martinis can turn any vibe into a party.
