WASHINGTON D.C., December 19, 2023—U.S. Both individuals’ faces are blurred in the released footage, but Sen. Mike Collins (R-GA) has identified one of the staffers involved.
The video was filmed in the Hart 216 room which typically hosts Senate Judiciary business.
Cardin’s office, meanwhile, on Friday issued the following statement, citing a rash of reports from 'right-wing' outlets.
'As this is a personnel matter and under review, we will not be commenting further at this time,' the office said.
Cardin, meanwhile, announced his retirement at the end of his current term in May.
As for Maese-Czeropski, he did not immediately respond to DailyMail.com's attempts to contact him.

'I understand the Capitol Police are doing an investigation,' Cardin told reporters Monday evening, saying his office is 'absolutely' cooperating with law enforcement.
'My knowledge of this was over the weekend,' Cardin added, as the scandal continues to roil the House.
Meanwhile, some lawmakers, mostly conservatives, were quick to issue critical statements. The staffer, who worked for Sen. Ben Cardin of Maryland, is no longer a Senate employee.
"I was angry," Cardin said of the scandal on Monday, "disappointed.

TheDesk reports that in November, Maese-Czeropski was promoted from his entry-level aide job.
The extremely graphic footage shows someone identified as a congressional staffer having sex with another man on the dais in hearing room 216 of the Hart Senate Office Building.
The identities of the men in the video have not been confirmed. Fox News Digital has reached out to several members of the Senate Ethics Committee, including ranking member Sen.
James Lankford, R-Okla., but has not received a response.

FOX News contributor Jonathan Turley suggested in a blog post that the individuals seen in the video could face potential criminal charges, even if the act was consensual.
"Obviously, the videotape will result in the termination of any staffers involved.
The romp occurred between the seating locations of Senators Amy Klobuchar (D-Minnesota) and Chris Coons(D-Delaware), according to Politico.
The staffer is no longer a Senate employee, Sen. Cardin confirmed though he did not explicitly state if the man was fired or not initially.
Those claims, Capitol cops have since confirmed, are still unproven.

'This has been a difficult time for me, as I have been attacked for who I love to pursue a political agenda,' the statement read.
'While some of my actions in the past have shown poor judgement, I love my job and would never disrespect my workplace.
However, the question is any possible criminal charge," Turley wrote on his website.
According to Turley, the charges would hinge on whether the unofficial use of a Senate hearing room for the sexcapade would constitute trespass.

Senator Cardin is the Chairman for the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, who assumed the role on September 27, 2023, from embattled Senator Robert Menendez (D-New Jersey) who was indicted by the DOJ in September for bribery offenses. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer's office did not respond to a request for comment.

Capitol Police are continuing to investigate the incident and could not say if there was any security camera footage recorded that evening.
The second individual engaged in sexual intercourse in the sex video filmed in the Senate hearing room is alleged to be a Georg Gauger, a German national studying at nearby Elliot School of International Affairs.

"One obvious criminal provision under the D.C. code is Section 22-1312 for lewd, indecent, or obscene acts," Turley wrote.
"The question is whether this is ‘in public’ in a locked committee room — any more than sex in a congressional office after hours would be viewed as ‘in public.’'
